AppRadio Extensions

The AppRadio Extensions project for iOS 7 is hosted on GitHub. It is no where near working yet, but you can track progress here:

Beta releases will be hosted in the repository below.
Important Note:
The version of AppRadio Extensions on the BigBoss repo in Cydia is not compatible with iOS 6/7 or the latest version of the AppRadio app (v2.0). It is an old version that will only work with v1.8.2 of the AppRadio app running on iOS 5.

SBRotator - Install this if you want the springboard to display in landscape on the head unit.

Instructions:
Install all of the dependencies.
Install the beta version of AppRadio Extensions.
Start the AppRadio app.
Launch an unsupported app from the menu. These can be added via the 'More Apps' setting.
The unsupported app should show on the phone screen and the radio.
Control the iPhone app from the radio.
Press on the black bars to the left or right of the app window to go back to the AppRadio app menu.

Other Issues:
If you have problems getting back to a normal state, try killing the AppRadio app from the task switcher. If that doesn't work, reboot the device.

Note: Please be aware that this is a beta version that could error, crash, cause your phone to become unresponsive, etc. Do not install it unless you are prepared for these things to happen.

iOS 7

I am running iOS 7. What version of AppRadio Extensions do I need?
AppEx for iOS 7 is not in a usable state yet. Go here for more info: github.com/mikedecaro/AppEx-iOS7

Where can I find the version that works with iOS 7?
Beta versions will be available on my Cydia repository once the project gets to a usuable state. Nothing has been released yet.

 

iOS 6

I am running iOS 6. What version of AppRadio Extensions do I need?
The latest version (see the top of this page).

Where can I find the version that works with iOS 6?
The Cydia repository URL is at the top of this page.

I can't find the iOS 6 version in Cydia.
The version of AppRadio Extensions for iOS 6 is not available in the BigBoss repo. You need to add the beta repo at the top of this page.

How do I manually install it?
Download the file in the first post of this thread. Email the file to yourself. Press on the attachment and then press Open in iFile. Press Installer.
iFile can be found on Cydia.

What version of the AppRadio app do I need?
The latest version available in the AppStore.

I installed the latest version but I can't get it to work.
First try rebooting your phone. If it still doesn't work, search this thread. It contains many posts with many answers.

The screen turns off after X seconds when displaying an unsupported app.
This is a known issue and is being worked on.

Why doesn't my home screen rotate?
You need SBRotator installed to rotate the home screen. It is available on Cydia.

 

General

I don't see one of the dependencies in Cydia. Where is it?
Make sure Cydia is in developer mode. This is required to see these packages. (Manage -> Settings -> Developer)

What version of the dependencies do I need?
You can always use the latest version for each of the dependencies.

Why are there black bars on the side of the screen?
The black bars are used to return to the AppRadio app menu. They act as a "home" button.

Can I make the apps full screen (no black bars on the sides)?
No, apps can not fill the entire screen.

I just installed everything but I don't see any additional apps in the menu. Where are they?
Go to the Settings app and select which apps you want displayed in the menu.

 

Head Unit

What firmware version should I run on the head unit?
The latest version released by Pioneer.

Does AppRadio Extensions work with model X?
It was developed for the AppRadio but it should work with any model that supports "App Mode".
